Since I have started making hummus at home, I have never looked back to any sauce or dip in the store. Ketchup hasn’t got that place in my fridge anymore and mustard sauce didn’t serve as a healthy option now.

It has become the new snack for my binge snacking. Whether I want to have a cheat day or I just want to take the healthy route, It seems like I am addicted to this dip.

It makes my craving so much easier TBH. Now, it’s much easier to just get to the fridge and snack on hummus.  Sometimes, I would even eat it as my pre workout snack. Not only that, the best part was when I packed a can of chickpeas and some tahini sauce for my holidays & even made some hummus at my parent’s home. It helped so much with the snacking during those free times.

So far, seems like hummus has become my best snack buddy and I don’t seem to get over it pretty soon. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients:

Boiled chickpeas – 2 Cups

Tahini sauce – 3 tbsp

In case you don’t  have tahini sauce in hand, it’s very easy to make it at home Recipe below

Juice of 1 whole Lemon

Green Chilli  – 1 (chopped)

Garlic – 3 Cloves (chopped)

Ginger paste  – 1 Tsp.

Cumin powder – 1/2 Tsp.

Salt — to Taste

Extra Virgin Olive Oil  – 4 Tbsp.

Hot Water 2-3 Tbsp.

Tip: Try soaking chickpeas overnight and boil them next morning. the softer they boil the better.

Recipe:

Blend the Garlic cloves, ginger paste, green chilli, lemon juice, olive oil and tahini paste first to smoothen the seasonings.

Add the chickpeas, salt, cumin powder & pulse in a blender. If the mixture becomes very thick, start adding hot water 1 tbsp. at a time and pulse again.

Check after adding each tbsp. of hot water & pulse until the hummus reaches a creamy consistency.

Scoop out the hummus and garnish by drizzling some olive oil and red chilli flakes or cumin powder.

Enjoy with bread sticks, cucumbers, pickled carrots and even rusks.

Add the sesame seeds in a high powered blender or food processor and add oilve oil 1 tbsp at a time.

keep adding the olive oil until desired consistency. Usually 3- 4 tbsp. does the job.
